During their midyear break, the UP PNS Scholars did their on-the-job training with PHINMA companies, namely PHINMA Properties and Holdings Corporation (PPHC) and Union Galvasteel Corporation (UGC). Civil Engineering majors, Dada Badiola, Franco Almarza, and Jaydee Lucero were assigned to PPHC where they spent four weeks in the Hacienda Balai site under the Construction and Management Department. Vince Rosete, a Civil Engineering major also, was assigned to UGC Calamba where he trained under the Project Services Group.

“The internship program allowed me to incorporate and emphasize all the lessons that I learned in the classroom into a real-world experience set in a professional practice-oriented environment. Through this OJT, I was exposed to different construction materials, such as rebars, concrete, formworks, etc., and learned a lot about them.
